What's there to do in Rigby, Idaho?
Very little. If you come here for whatever reason, bring lots of stuff to entertain yourself with because the nearest town with substantial activity venues is Idaho Falls, about 20 miles down the road. Oh, and if you're a coffee drinker and you're staying with a Mormon family (which I am), bring your own coffee and coffee maker. Unbelievably, there is no Starbucks here. My brother and his wife were kind enough to purchase a small coffee maker for my use, so I just had to bring a little container of French Roast.
Well why the hell did you go to Rigby in the first place? you may ask. I'm here to celebrate my mother's 93rd birthday on June 4th. My sister flew in from Berlin last Thursday and spent a few days with us in Sandpoint. Yesterday, she and I made the 8 hour trek from Sandpoint to Rigby, past purple mountains majesty and through fruited plains. Actually, we didn't trek, we drove. But still, a pretty long drive.
